Don't worry you don't need to rush to grab the last available beds for the season ahead.

This year more than ever before people are complaining that they can't get the availability they are after in Zambia. With 5 separate camps in the South Luangwa we have greater flexibility than most and can usually pull together an itinerary that will work, even in the busier months.

Our availability can be viewed on line through the home page of our website www.normancarrsafaris.com or just drop us a line on kapani@normancarrsafaris.com to see what we are able to offer.

Robin Pope Safaris has opened Nkwali again after the high waters of Feb. The camp has had a wonderful “spring clean” of course with all the repainting, and is ready for an excellent 2007. From Nkwali we access the park directly across the river all year round - either by boat or pontoon. This direct access allows us to utilize the less used area in the southern part of Mfuwe – and also means we are inside the park within a short but exciting time. Nkwali remains the only camp in the Mfuwe area – it is not a luxury lodge. However, with all the homely comfort you need, the rooms are open and you shower under the sky. For the months of March, April, May there is no single supplement and there is a 15% discount for stay of 7 plus nights.  Contact Geno on info@robinpopesafaris.net for further information and availability.

As the 2007 safari season approaches the Chiawa Camp team is busy with a major post-rains sprucing up operation and preparations to make this renowned "bush lodge" better than ever; old vehicles have been retired and 3 new game viewing vehicles have been added to the fleet meaning 6 game viewing vehicles (& guides) are available as well as a transfer vehicle for unsurpassed flexibility. The new Superior Safari Tent III is scheduled to open May 01 and promises to bring even more wow factor to Chiawa Camp. The rains have slowed down, the sun is shining, elephants and 2 nights ago, a leopard (the first of many if last year's game viewing results are anything to go by), are visiting and it seems like another great season is ahead of us. Chiawa Camp and its guides are ready to take you on the safari of a lifetime!

With only several weeks before Old Mondoro opens, we are busy making final preparations. The new canoes are on their way to the Zambezi and the design work for the new dining area is in it's final stages - it is going to look fantastic! Helen & Roelof are enjoying thier final days of rest before returning to the Lower Zambezi. There has been no rain in the are for the last two weeks, meaning all the game viewing roads should be well and truly open for our first guests arriving on the 1st May.

This photo was recently taken by Roelof whilst sitting on a wild dog kill as vultures tried to get a piece of the action! We are all very much looking forward to the new safari season and hope to see you at Old Mondoro soon.

Greetings and welcome again from Sausage Tree Camp, the heart of the Lower Zambezi National Park. Camp building is well underway with a brand new kitchen days from completion. The lack of rain over the past month has seen very steady progress and we are all looking forward to the start of season with the latest infrastructure helping us provide amazing cuisine, service and experiences to our guests. The Lower Zambezi River is so low at the moment that we are having to dig out the harbour so that we can bring the boats in (as per pic.)! Nearly all the staff are back in camp busy preparing for another very good season. Keep reading every month to get the latest news from the camp and the awesome experiences that happen every day!! Please enquire about our "April and May Special Offer", we still have some availability!!!
